Abstract

This article discusses ways to improve the efficiency of polymeric thickeners used in motor oils. The main focus is on the interaction of thickeners with various base oils. The interaction of thickeners with base components was analyzed, and methods for optimizing their composition and structure are studied. The study's results demonstrated that the correct selection of base oils allows to increase the viscosity index, reduce engine part wear, and improve overall energy efficiency [1, 2].
